Since the beginning of human history, technology has represented our interface to our physical environment. Through scientific ascendance, it has gradually expanded to become the interface, and our access, to the chemical and biological realms as well. With the development of computers and telecommunications, it is now an ever more important interface to our mental and social worlds. Indeed, I wonder how long it will be before it becomes a practical tool to help us access even our subconscious, emotional, and spiritual worlds? One could argue that we have already made some advances in those areas, such as with the technology of music and story-telling.
